Breathe Neon, Breathe Life!

For the first time in Indian blogs…

So many channels, so many programmes… What is your favourite? I stopped watching TV during the weekdays as it is being spammed with serials. Thanks to Champions trophy now that I find myself sitting in front of the TV.
TV serials are not the only formula to glue people to the TV, but there is also special programmes like star interviews, music show, etc. One day with full of special shows is on a festival day. The usual package is star interviews, debate, movies.
I usually enjoy watching star interviews. The debate is very famous one for a festival. I hated it when I was a child. Six people argue over an useless topic and there is a judge to pass comments and to give the final judgement and there is the audience to applaud and laugh (What else to expect!). Usually, the judgement can be clearly guessed. It would be the one which will be accepted by the society or the one which the judge will find it approving.
Then there is this movie. “Indiya tholaikaatchigalil mudhal muraiyaaga…” (“For the first time in Indian television”). So what? I would have already guessed (very easy though) the movie they are going to telecast on TV (especially Sun TV). Seriously, watching a movie on TV (especially on festival days) is like reading a virus-infected mail inbox (The lesser the content, the more the spam). The movie will be dragged really long (because of ads) and then there is NEWS in the middle. What thrill is there?
Here are some of the records made by TV Channels…

1. RAJ TV holds the highest record for running the movie INDIAN (three hours long movie) for eight solid hours. And still people watched it!?

2. If you had missed watching Harry Potter on POGO, don’t worry, watch it the next day… missed it again? watch it the next next day… missed it again? don’t worry! Opportunities knock a lot of times in POGO.

3. Doordarshan holds the highest record in running the serial JUNOON for three or four years (I am not sure of this)

4. SUN TV holds the record for telecasting a movie which was yet to be released in theatres and also a movie which was running in its first week in theatres.

5. Jetix is the channel running on everyone’s television. Thanks to Power Rangers and Power Rangers only (man, how many PR serials are there?)

Not enough? There are many more… just stock not reachable. Will update if I get any… Feel free to post your comments…
